David Udofia (PhD) is the Integrated Peacebuilding and Development Unit (IPDU) Capacity Building Coordinator of Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND), Nigeria. He worked with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) as Security Sector Reform Officer, where he was responsible for building capacity of core, non-statutory and oversight security institutions in South Sudan on the nexus between security and sustainable peace and development. He also lectured as Assistant Professor at the Centre for Peace and Development Studies, University of Juba and a visiting instructor at the South Sudan National Defense Academic Centre on volunteer bases during the UN mission engagement. Previously, he served as Programme Coordinator with Peacebuilding and Humanitarian Initiatives (PEHI) in Nigeria where he operationalized multi-track diplomacy at grassroots in Akwa Ibom State. He has published articles on alternative dispute resolution, prep and post-conflict peacebuilding, security sector reforms, counter terrorism, religious conflicts, good governance, ethnic and natural resources conflicts and humanitarian interventions. He has attended several courses and conferences both as participant and speaker on listed areas in Africa, Europe and Asia. He holds PhD and masters in Peace and Conflict Studies, University of Ibadan, Nigeria; Master in Public and Development Administration, and Bachelor of Science in Political Science from University of Calabar, Nigeria.
